This morning I had some time before collection of the afternoon delivery of a Mercedes for the dealership here.

Their customer demanded, as they do, the car delivered on a Friday afternoon to Cheltenham. Luckily there is a part exchange to come back with, so I didn't mind too much.

I also had a collection on Monday from Doncaster. And a job landed perfectly for me on the job app I am on this morning.

To collect a VW Golf from Aylesbury to go to Sheffield. So I grabbed the job and whatever price they wanted. As it saved me £35 train tickets too.

So this morning I went to Aylesbury Audi to collect the VW

Which I stored safely at home for Monday morning's trip to Sheffield.. I worked from home until it was time to collect the Mercedes going to Cheltenham. Which is ready for collection around 11.30am

A nice walk just over a mile to the Mercedes dealer and the car was ready to go. Although the sales people there were all very busy with customers as it's monthly end.

Keys handed over, I did my bit, checked the paperwork and got the required signature.

The drive to Cheltenham takes you through Oxford and the A40 west towards Cirencester and the roadworks towards the A419 , which thankfully were quiet for a Friday. What wasn't quiet, however, was the rain. That started just after Oxford. More torrential than we have had recently and yet another, non dry day.

I arrived at the customers address around 15.30pm The customer invited me in our of the rain once I had my two appraisals in the bag. One for the new car I was dropping off and the part exchange. Which turned out to be a 2016 C Class convertible. Inside we did all the paperwork. And I am not sure how they got their holiday into the conversation. But it turned out they were planning to go to Sicily. Simply fly into Catania and two weeks later leave for home, from Palermo airport. Everything in between was unplanned. Having told them I lived there for a few years. They were happy to take some recommendations from me. Of course, not to miss Ortigia. That jewel on the south east attached to Siracusa.

They were very happy with my input and it was nice to share my experience for them. I wish them both a great journey in a great place.

They were delighted with the car and service and I finally left around 16.30 and just took my time getting home through the busy Friday traffic. I got to Oxford. Which I was dreading due to time. But actually I had stopped for something to eat. So getting through Oxford wasn't too bad and eventually home around 18.45.

Job done. The part exchange would be delivered back tomorrow morning to Mercedes. Then I could walk across the road and collect my BMW from the MOT place too. I think this spring I will dispose of the BMW and perhaps find something else to use.
