18th June 25. A Long and Troublesome Day.
When you meticulously plan a day around 3 different jobs from Aylesbury to Great Yarmouth. Then back to Maidstone. Into London collect a third car to get back to Aylesbury. Nothing can go wrong. It did. My greed for jobs and thinking about the saving on the train when there was a job from London to Aylesbury to get me home. It didn't. However it was another in a long line of sunny hot days. It's mid June and we have had beautiful weather really since March. With only a few da

17th June 25
So an early start and I called the AA. An operative arrived and hour later and diagnosed the No1 injector had packed up . So no way it could be fixed there and then as his parts supplier had no part available. This actually turned in my favour. The AA are now going to transport the car to my customer in Oxford. Saves me a job and I can now collect Wednesdays car in Stoke on Trent which was due to be collected and delivered tomorrow to my independent garage customer outside Ay

Collecting a 2024 Kia Ceed: A Journey from Oxford to Lanark
The Plan The plan today was to collect a 2024 Kia Ceed from our customer, a dealer in Oxford. This car was being delivered to a retail customer living near Lanark in Scotland. I was excited about the trip. My wife was joining me, and we aimed to drive to Carlisle, where we’d stay the night with family. We left our car in Oxford around 9 AM because of a part exchange—a 2019 Renault Captur was coming back with us. Or was it? The Drive North The drive north from Oxford onto the

14th June 25. Saturday job, and an amazing memory.
No prizes for guessing what today's job entails. Yep, Delivery of an Audi Q7 .. This is the car collected yesterday from Land Rover Aylesbury (Sorry, Land Rover Buckinghamshire) Obviously a trade in for a Land Rover product. Of which the Defender seems to be the car to have from the company now. Having worked for them previously. Back in 2009 when Defenders were not the cool So called "Chelsea Tractors" (I hate that title). They are today. We used to have to have at least one

13th June 25 Non stop
Today started by dropping off the car that I brought back from the customer in Kelso yesterday to Mercedes-Benz in Aylesbury. And having dropped that car off I collected another one at the same place. This time going to a retail customer in North West London. It wasn't an early start today. I couldn't collect the car until 12:00. Customer wanted the car around lunchtime so a relaxed morning. As much as I can actually relax when there is job, actually two, to be done today. An

12th June 25 How Did That Happen?
Looking back and writing about today. I don't know how I managed to get this job and fit it into an already busy week. When I saw this job on one of the work portals. I had managed to cancel off a smaller job ok and got this much longer and obviously more lucrative piece of work going from Aylesbury Mercedes to Kelso in the Scottish borders and a return car , a customer part exchange back to Aylesbury. I had agreed to collect the car, a Mercedes EQA last night and as I had an

10th June 25
I missed a day!! Sorry about that. So on this day the 10th June I was asked to collect a Kia Picanto from Group 1 used cars in Peterborough. So a train from Aylesbury to Marylebone and underground to Kings Cross, via my favourite underground station, Baker Street, got me to a train north to Peterborough. If you choose the right train. You can go non stop and it takes only 47 minutes to Peterborough. A cheap and quick Uber to the dealer and I arrived at Group 1's used car site

11th June 25 A Short Day, Long
Two relatively short jobs today. But weirdly awkward and took most of the day. First job was a collection of a Peugeot 3008 from the preparation centre in Leighton Buzzard again. So the usual bus from Vale Park in Aylesbury to Leighton Buzzard and try to get there early enough, not to have to queue with the line of permanent wearers of the yellow (and oil stained and filthy) high viz jackets Keys obtained, car found and appraisal done. I was heading to Monks Risborough to del

9th June 25. Frustrating job 1
The early start today was to head east to Norwich. I was delivering the 2012 Hyundai I35 I collected on Friday to an independent dealer in Norwich. Another beautiful sunny day ahead and it's starting to get warmer and feels like a hot summer coming. I decided to take the Aylesbury to Milton Keynes then Bedford on the A421 and head up the A1 briefly and then navigate the road to Cambridge which is still full of major works . Aylesbury to Norwich It's a 3 hours drive, given a

6th June 25 Half a job.
I was going to have today a working from home day. I had two jobs on Monday From Bicester to Norwich. Back to London in the train to collect a Mercedes S500 going to Leighton Buzzard prep centre. I decided, however to make Monday a little easier by collecting the car from Bicester today. So I made my way early to Bicester station. A place I try to avoid normally due to the usually loaded trains of Bicester Village shoppers carrier bags of designer gear usually bigger than the

5th June 25. Back to normal
After two days tearing my hair out trying to help a daughter settle in staying with us short term. (I will judge this "short term" later. In which our kitchen is now suffering the aftermath of a volcanic eruption of various health food supplements, healthy "ready meals" which she has delivered every two weeks apparently. So our fridge is now stuffed with this nonsense and I actually can't count, how many herbal and mushroom based teas we have on display. So, the relief of get

3rd June 25. Rest days???
Not for me a rest day. Or even a day to catch up with paperwork or marketing for my various online projects. No, today was helping my daughter move out of her London address. Which was supposed to be an apartment in a block with facilities to health and wellbeing. Turned out to be a nightmare for her. So being a father, I offered her to stay with us until she found something else suitable. . So moving most of her life into storage was today's operation. Van hired. Storage boo

2nd June 25. Another month starts
After a nice few days off. Making bread on Saturday as I'm trying to replicate my mother's famous Jewish rye bread recipe. (I'm not Jewish or religious. I do believe in God, just not yours) The results were ok but I just can't get it the same. I need to get more patience from somewhere. Today's tasks were to deliver the Audi Q3, I collected on Friday to the prep centre in Leighton Buzzard and collect from there, a Kia X-Ceed for Motability, again, and delivery it to an ind

30th May 25. To Wales
Today Was another quick trip to Leighton Buzzard to the often visited prep centre there. lately, avoiding asking for help from anyone. Do you remember my encounter there previously ? For those who know. This will explain this course of action. Prep centre Leighton Buzzard I took the X4 bus from Aylesbury to Milton Keynes which now stops right outside the centre. I was collecting another Peugeot 3008 from there, this time to be taken to a customer in Cardiff, Wales. Then I had

29th May 25
I have been promising myself to get up to date. I'm digging into my diary to tell you what happened in May, during beautiful sunshine. But because I am busy (taking on too much work) I'm not getting time to write every day. So this episode dated 29th May 25. Is being written from my diary and photos taken that day. On a quite cold Halloween afternoon the 31st October. The question is. Do you really need to hear about every day from May to now? Or would you prefer to get a dai
