After the 16 hours working yesterday. Today was like a calm lazy day. Not that any day is a lazy day for me. And every day is a calm day now I have been doing this work.
One of my old BMWs needs an MOT today and I had booked it in last week

I bought this to save the use of my other one I brought back from Sicily. The 328i is in storage. This was going to be a car just to use for anytime we need it . It's first ever drive in our hands had been a drive to Scotland the day after we bought it. Risky, yes as we had no idea how good, (or bad) it was going to be. (See, 22nd February 25)
I dropped off the car at the MOT place at 9.00 and walked back home to collect the car dropped off yesterday morning by my driver at my house.
This was a BYD. A fairly new Chinese brand here. A few years now and I was very surprised at the quality of the interior and technology in this car. My first drive was short and only in town but I was very impressed. The dealer buying it has just become a BYD franchise. After Seat. The VW group brand has given up here in the UK.

I know the people in the BYD section and they are delighted and getting rid of a stagnant brand and replacing it with this.
This was a 2025 75 plate BYD Seal 3.8. I'm not familiar with the brand yet so have no idea what the 3.8 signifies. I'll find out.

Car dropped off and appraisal signed. I again walked the mile home.
A quick coffee and the phone rang. The MOT people informed me that the car needs two rear shock absorbers only. I asked them to fit them and use BMW spec units. I love original cars 😁.
A few hours later another call. This time asking where the locking wheel nut key was. I know it was in the tool holder on the inside of the boot lid?
Then the conversation went along the lines of. "The boot won't open its locked" Now I know it opens as I had opened it this morning. But they were insistent.
So another mile walk, my third of the day. Only to get there walk into the garage to be met by a technician who walked up to the car to prove it wouldn't open. Only for it to click open. So, another mile walk home. I got my steps in today. ( Not that I count)
