28th May 25. 3 into 2 does work

Today is a first for my new (ish) career. I have three jobs. But only doing two of them. I have finally let go of the reins and sub-contracted a job out to another company.

This is something you either want to do to grow your own little business, (or, big business).

Or you don't, and want to just have yourself to worry about and just travel and earn some pocket money.

The pros and cons of both are something you need to think about joining Just1idea-work.com.

Will help you decide and give you the best route for you!

Today, my jobs were delivering the BMW 320i I collected yesterday to Listers BMW in King's Lynn. Then a train to Ipswich to collect a Kia Picanto. Going to Maidstone.

The BMW 320i was an M-Sport version. The seller had only done 2400 miles in the two years he'd owned it. A retired gentleman who had decided that the car wasn't being used enough to justify the outlay on insurance and tax. I'm sure the depreciation would have eclipsed both by a long way. I would think in the two years it had devalued at least 40% possibly more.

He would have been better off buying a £1000 worth of car and breaking even over the period. Instead of losing. I am guessing, but at least £17K

It's not for me to judge. But I will. That £17K would be better in my bank. And I'm happy to drive a cheap car. Actually, if I did 2500 miles in a year. I wouldn't own a car.

The drive to Kings Lynn takes me through Milton Keynes and on towards Bedford down the A421 to pick up the A1 North. Eventually after the constant raid works at the black cat roundabout.

There are a couple of ways to go. You can head up to Peterborough and take the A47 or today I'm heading to Cambridge then taking the A10 past Ely .

I'm doing this because on a beautiful sunny day the drive takes in the fen roads and the horizon is almost 360 degrees at times and it just takes in so much blue sky. I used to do this Cambridge to King's Lynn daily commute and although there were aspects of the job at the time I really didn't like. Six days maximum a month off and only 29 days holiday a year. Including all the statutory holidays. It was a tough gig for the money. But the people were great and the business wasn't hugely pressured. But the daily drive to work was enjoyable, mainly due to the scenery.

Today it was stunning clear blue sky and although busy roads they could be fun. The BMW 320i was a very good drive. I imagine the technology, the media system, navigation, vehicle settings and information you can access and send to the dealership about the needs of the car are incredible to use. If you had the car for more than a few hours. And maybe even more than 2500 miles as the seller told me he just didn't get his head round it at all.

The car feels like all BMW's as if it's all carved from the same material and is a solid well built car. Certainly better put together than my thirty year old 328i

I arrived at Kings Lynn for opening time and dropped off the car where the receptionist was amazing. She got someone to check the car and actually asked me where I was going next and asked the young man who checked the car, to take me to the station.

Which he did in a new shape M140i Z4.

Now this is a car I would spend time in. The run to the station was only a few minutes. But yes. I could see myself in this.

Having had an Atacama Yellow Z4 back in my BMW days. A car that sat in the showroom for well over six months. When my boss asked me to please have it as a demonstrator. It broke company rules that all company cars had to be four cylinder models, but he got it for me and I immediately had the wheels powder coated black and it transformed the cars look. I loved it and actually had it for nearly a year.

The New Z4 was much bigger and a little of the older cars character had gone. But that M140 engine in it would have been amazing. For me, it's the best engine BMW have produced.

To the station and the journey to Ipswich was simple but a few hours. Going first to Cambridge and then Ipswich.

I was going to the Group 1 assured site to collect a Kia Picanto going to Maidstone. A short Uber from Ipswich station to the site and the car was already taken off the forecourt and ready to go.

I did the appraisal and set off.

It was a couple of hours and a very different drive in the small auto gearbox Picanto. But still fun to drive. The auto gearbox tried very hard to keep it going but it wasn't a great option for this car. But the drive was fun and it got me to Kia Maidstone.

Arriving at Maidstone I found someone to sign my appraisal and made my way to the station for the long train journey via London Victoria from Barming Station. A 20 minutes walk from the dealership.

From Victoria it's a simple underground train to Marylebone and then a train to Aylesbury.

Although the tickets for the journey are as long as the journey itself.

My third job of the day. I sub- contracted out on a portal I use to get work. This time I put the job on there and it was a collection from my customer in Aylesbury of a Hyundai Kona. Going to a retail customer in Solihull. I obviously just take an administrative cut of the money. Which is fine as I don't actually have to do much.

However. Finding people who are reliable to complete a job properly is the biggest problem here.

Again if this is what you want to do and sit back and administer jobs to others and take a percentage. It fine. But you need to know the business and people.

Again, something you can learn by signing up to

Another day finished. I loved every minute of it today.
