27th February 26. Collection day.

Two longish job to get started today. One collection from the often visited Sytner centre in Leighton Buzzard for Motability. And then taking my own car to Oxford to collect a car going to Oldham tomorrow.

So first jump on the bus at Vale Park to Leighton Buzzard. A 25 minute bus ride which now, annoyingly, does go into Leighton Buzzard down Groveberry road and stop right outside. Like it used to, for a while.

No, now it goes directly to the train station and the nearest stop is 30 minutes walk. Luckily it's a dry morning and the walk was pleasent enough. Today was also just about collecting two cars and there's plenty of time.

The walk goes from the station through some residential roads and then down past the canal.

Arriving at the prep centre. The collection system has changed a lot. Now you give the car registration number to the guy at the gate. Probably just to make him feel important. Then across to the office and give the important people the vehicle registration number and release code.

They give you the keys and the number of the bay the car is located. Simple

Today's collection was a Skoda Enyaq EV.

Having driven a few of these. I'm always happy to have them. They are extremely comfortable and the technology is great. The high seating position gives a great view of the road. And you could actually drive one of these all day. Allowing for the EV range. Which seems very good for such a big car.

One feature I like is the way you just get in the car keyless entry and simply put the car in drive to start it. Takes some getting used to. But once you get it. It's so easy.

It's among the best electric cars I have driven.

That driven the short 25 minutes journey home and safely st ok red until next week's delivery to Sudbury, Suffolk next week.

Then off to Oxford to collect the car for tomorrow's delivery to Oldham

Taking my own car, so it's there when I drop off the part exchange tomorrow.

Lancashire. An MG4 for a retail customer and having a part exchange to come back in is always very welcome. Saves money on an expensive train and a lot of time. With the added bonus of getting paid for two jobs.

Some dealers have said to me, that having a car to come back with should make the return job free! I get their point but with so many jobs available it's not difficult, with some clever planning, to find another job to get back or go somewhere else. All other operators would charge the full amount. And certainly not give as good a service to the end customer with a professional handover and compliance paperwork done as it should be.

But that's what can set you aside in this business and we can teach you all this here

The MG4 shares the function of the keyless entry and starting the Skoda has. But that's where the similarities end.

The MG is a cheaper option and it shows.

Not a great range and the shown range is usually unachievable when driving on motorways etc. it's not a bad car . But doesn't feel as well built as the Skoda. But I guess the price reflects that. Taking the MG home for the night is a shortish 50 minutes journey and the car left overnight at home ready for its early start tomorrow.
