Saturday morning jobs are becoming quite common now. I actually think I am enjoying them. An early start on quiet motorways. Talksport radio discussions about the day's games . The early morning show is usually quite interesting. Until the next 9am onwards offering. Which is quite honestly awful. Two grown men who think they are still at university and the

ridiculous humour that particular group of young men think is funny. It's not. From the affected false voices ,which I don't understand the point , used only to dramatically introduce very undramatic events and people. Grow up people

The MG4 shares the function of the keyless entry and starting, the Skoda from yesterday has. But that's where the similarities end.

The MG is a cheaper option and it shows.

Not a great range and the shown range is usually unachievable when driving on motorways etc. it's not a bad car . But doesn't feel as well built as the Skoda yesterday. But I guess the price reflects that.

The drive to Shaw, Oldham went quietly and quickly leaving early on a Saturday has it's benefits as it's quite quiet early on. The later it gets the more civilians are out. The civilians are weekend drivers, people who are in no rush, which is fine, but they also have no idea or care what's around them. Sometimes distracted by kids, animals or hangovers they are to be avoided. Especially at motorway services. Train stations and London underground. Where they just are clueless wanderers. Stopping at the most awkward places. Top and bottom of stairs or escalators. Wondering where the fuck they are and what is this complete puzzle of an underground map in front of me.

Stepping off a busy train where they stood up 5 minutes before the train gets to the platform. Then try and get their massive luggage from the rack and eventually get off the train, only to block everyone else from getting off.

Getting to the ticket barrier with all that luggage. Only to then start the search for their tickets whilst the queue forms behind them.

Letting their kids run, screaming around motorway service car parks or inside while the parents decide what (overpriced)food they can stuff into themselves as they haven't eaten for a few minutes now. Their cars already littered with wrappers and crisps bags and stained seats full of scraps and dog hairs. How do I know this?

Because I've taken in hundreds, maybe thousands of parts exchange cars in . During my time in the business and seen the way people look after their second biggest financial layout and it's shocking.

Anyway rant over and the MG finally delivered.

I obtained all the necessary signatures on the appraisal and paperwork. And turned my attention to the part exchange.

A Nissan Qashqai.

It probably was cleaner and definitely a better car than the MG. But the customer wanted to go electric and his daughter had an MG4. So who am I to argue.

The journey back was around two and a half hours.

So rather than listening to the drivel on Talksport and the constant advertising of gambling. I instead decided to listen to an audiobook. Carrying on the book I'm in the middle of. Someone I can't abide Piers Morgan's Woke is dead. Only the subject interested me. And it's a quick thing to listen to. Not much substance but I do like some of his points about how our society is nowadays.

He reads it himself and his voice just has no real listening qualities. He just drones on at speed. Which makes some of the interesting stuff..less interesting actually.

And, I know you won't read this and if you sell a million books, I also know that 999,999 more people will read yours than this. But I really don't care how many famous people you know and how well you know Trump. It wasn't relevant to your book. Ok?

Anyway after that listen. I arrived back at Oxford. Appraisal done and picked up my BMW and headed home for a few Saturday hours and Sunday off to relax.
