25th February 26. Catch Up.

A very messy day today as I was trying to catch up with work having lost Monday.

First job was to deliver the car I was able to collect on Saturday. Luckily I know the manager otherwise that wasn't possible, normally.

It was another Motability car going to the buyer near Norwich. Dearham actually. To what looks like the only new car sales operation in the place. Then I had to catch a train to Farnham in Surrey. Awkward yes as you had to go into London and back out from Waterloo.

First was the early drive to get to Dearham. Arriving at 8.30 and thanks to the sales team for accepting it early.

So far so good.

The next issue which due to being off Monday and busy yesterday. I really didn't have time to look at how to get from Dearham to Wymondham , the nearest railway station. I had bought my ticket from there to Farnham and I was pleasantly surprised when I clicked on Uber to find one in the area and how reasonable it was for the journey. That was a relief

So off to the station and on time for the train I had booked for after 9.00am

The train journey was going to be a long one with a few stops and going through London. This Engine was parked in Wymondham station. I had worried this was my train considering the depths of Norfolk I was in.

Stopping at Vauxhall on the south of the Thames in London. I was reminded of the time my business had an office on the North side of the Thames looking over at MI5 building and the growing number of apartment blocks going up at that time. It was in 2000/2003. My late father in law . The civil engineer. was putting the piles in for the three blocks of apartments next to the MI5 building. These were the among the first and biggest blocks and now passing here today you can hardly see them. They are surrounded by even bigger blocks. Probably mostly foreign owned. But I promise I won't rant about property today.

I arrived in Farnham around 2pm and jumped in a taxi to the car rental place who sold the car to the dealership.

I don't know nowadays, if the law states that a car dealer must declare, when they sell an ex rental car, to the retail customer.

I remember in around 2014 when I worked for a BMW dealer. The owner of the business (a real nasty piece of work) used to sell these cars, quite happily. Until I pointed out this law. Nowadays there are so many of these cars being sold by wholesalers and I know rental companies now only put some initials instead of their name on the registration document.

The car today was a Vauxhall Crossland Automatic. Only done 22,000 miles as in great condition and drove perfectly. The seller would be servicing the car whether it needs it or not and being a main dealer. It would come with a good warranty and be a great car for someone.

It even had enough fuel to get back so that's all I care about.

A long day. But still got home around 4pm

The drive back was quicker than expected as the roads had changed a little from my memory of this area and there is a direct route to the M3 now from Farnham. . My memory was having to drive through Farnborough past the airport there and on to Frimley to get to the M3. Much quicker now. The route is similar but a new dual carriageway makes it easier.
