19th May 25. Up North Again

Back to normal duties today after a lovely weekend. Football season over. A long summer ahead. Even though the weather has been incredible for a good two months nearly. No rain. Mostly blue skies and sunshine. Can it last much longer?

So, today I have to take the Vauxhall Mokka I collected Saturday morning. To Vertu, Vauxhall Chesterfield. I've been here a few times now It's a Vauxhall and MG site I have both collected and delivered cars a few times, so I know that Ubers here are quick and cheap.

When I have a car at home. I like to leave early for arrival to my destination around 9.00am opening time.

Then I have a full day ahead of me.

The other thing we show people who sign up to just1idea-eork.com is how to use your time efficiently and enable you to use the tools available to make things easier for you. It might sound like a very simple thing. But it's not. This is only one aspect of the job. We will also give you tools and show you how to organise your workflow and online forms, required to be professional.

So a six o'clock start to get ahead of the traffic and to Milton Keynes along the A428 and navigate around MK to the M1 North. The settle in for the few hours of motorway to Chesterfield.

I Arrived at the dealership at just gone nine and hijacked a sales exec to check the car and sign.

Having summoned an Uber on arrival. By the time I walked down to the road. The car was there.

Why is it always a White, Grey or Silver Toyota Prius?

To the station, having already booked the train tickets to Rotherham I was ahead of schedule for now.

The train was under £6.00 and my next job was back from Rotherham to Aylesbury. So travel costs down to a minimum today. Planning these journeys in advance is critical.

The train took me right past Rotherham United's football ground. It actually looks like a very big stadium. I must have a look at there capacity and where in the league they are as I have no idea. Sorry Rotherham fans.

I needed to change at Sheffield but the journey to Rotherham was only just over 45 minutes.

From the station to the dealer to collect the car for the return journey, was a 20 minutes walk, and again the weather is glorious. Blue skies and sunshine again. It really does, for me anyway make such a difference to my mental wellbeing. Enjoying a walk through a different town or city is actually like a holiday for me.

I don't do beaches, holiday resorts or tourist areas. When I go on holiday I want to see something different. OK, Rochdale isn't on most people's holiday destinations. But I'm seeing somewhere different and getting paid for it!

I arrived at the dealership and the car was quickly found for me.

I had already loaded the job onto my workflow app and attached the two digital forms for the point of collection and delivery. Pulling up the point of collection form. I loaded the details of the car, time and date stamped it. Took and loaded the photos required. Noted any damage. Ticked the necessary boxes for the things the car had , or didn't. V5 registration document, spare key, locking wheel nut, book pack, service documents, etc.

This form is very important to do on collection and delivery. Why?

Let's say you miss some damage on a car on collection and the person or dealer you deliver the car to. Sees it. (Don't forget you will be asking them to sign for it.)

Then it's not possible, it's likely, that you could be responsible for it. They will say it is not on your collection appraisal and therefore you must have caused the damage. Suddenly your down £70-150 for a smart repair. Or you fail to notice there is no locking wheel nut on collection. Same issue. Only more expensive to rectify

Two things about these forms.

It looks professional to have these. Shows a level of care not many other people use.

And it could save you from expensive issues and your reputation.

This again is one aspect of this job we can show you by joining Just1idea-work.com

So, appraisal done and fuelled up at a nearby BP. And the journey back to Aylesbury will take about three hours. More with stops.

Another day done 👍🏼
