3rd July 25. A Day Like No Other.

After a day off yesterday to view a house and spend time with my wife. Back to work today to collect a car for my independent car site customer just outside Aylesbury. I expected the day to start well, so full of positivity, blue skies, sunshine, and an easy job but it turned into a horrific day.
The train to the east London Volvo dealership to collect the trade 2016 Hyundai Tucson
Was simple enough Aylesbury to London Marylebone, tube to London bridge then train to New Eltham. Then a short, peaceful, sunny beautiful walk to the dealer to collect the car.
I had to wait a while for the payment to be visible in the seller's account which is normal. So I sat in the Hyundai to set up the sat nav, seat position etc. And just sat put the radio on to relax until the payment was made. I listen to talksport a lot not everyday and being the summer there was no football. So the talk was about transfers etc.
Then they stopped normal programming to bring an announcement.
Diogo Jota Liverpool's much loved goal scorer. Had been killed in a car accident in Spain.
There was no more news at that point other than that. Simple horrific fact.
The news as it progressed only got worse. He'd been travelling from Portugal to the UK by car and died in an accident alongside his brother, Andre. You just cannot comprehend news like this and how it affects the poor family. Being a Liverpool fan for the last 60 years, we had our fair share of tragedy mostly at our own hands. But this was different. For the rest of the day all I could think of was his poor family, his wife, his children, and the devastating effect that losing two sons would have on his parents.
Today as I write this past dates journey. Ironically we play Wolverhampton Wanderers at home. Diogo's previous club.
I can only Imagine how emotional the 20th minute of this game is going to be.
I don't have any more to say other than that on this subject. It's still difficult to comprehend.
The journey back to Aylesbury in the Hyundai I don't remember. It was just listening to the radio and the constant reports and the story as it developed.
I dropped the car at the dealer. Everything good and got the bus home. That's all there is to say about July 3rd 2025.
Nothing else is relevant.
