To give myself some time at home for work online and paperwork. I decided to get to Rochester BCA as early as possible this morning. I was going to collect yet another van for my customer in Aylesbury . They seem to be. Like a lot of vehicle sales businesses. On a buying spree.
This is due to the bigger operations doing what they always do in December and January. And it's a simple balance sheet operation for the blessed accountants.
To make sure the balance sheet is correct for year end. Some groups dispose of stock in November and December sometimes losing money in the process.
Then come January. It was time to restock.
The book values always reflected this common practice. So the losses in December were heavier and the prices in January were firm.
Bloody accountants.
Anyway I left home at the time Google maps told me to get the Discovery Sport to Chelmsford Land Rover around 8.30
There's always one or two early starters in a dealership.

Then I got a quick Uber to Chelmsford station. From there it's a London Liverpool Street train. Getting off at Stratford. From there you have to change to Stratford international station. The quickest way is through Westfield shopping centre.

The train from Stratford international was direct and only about 30 minutes
It's a strange station obviously also serving the Eurostar.

I arrived at Strood Station and quickly summoned an Uber to take me to the BCA site. As I've said before, these sites are generally far out of town due to the space needed. The Uber was quick and relatively cheap and the best way to get there.
This BCA site is one of the easiest to collect a car from you simply go up to the security gate. Give them your registration number and release code and then they bring the van out to you.

Once the van is out a quick appraisal no paperwork needed and security allow you through very quickly. It's one of the best sites and I enjoy going here for this reason.
From here it's about an hour and a half back to Aylesbury.

As you can see, there are two ways to go. I always prefer to go the Dartford crossing way it's slightly quicker and less prone to hold ups. Although with the M25 you can never tell, hold ups can happen everywhere.
So two jobs done today. A nice early finish home around 3:00 p.m..
Now some planning for tomorrow.
