No Saturday working and a relaxing weekend, wasn't really earned. It got was strategic downtime before today's jobs.
Ip needed to get from Aylesbury to Ford in Waltham Cross by train for 9.00am to collect a Ford Tipper truck, being delivered from there, to the customer in Swansea.

From there, I was collecting an MG from the Hyundai dealership in Swansea going back to Leighton Buzzard. Which was being delivered early as possible tomorrow morning. Starting at 5.40 from Aylesbury. So I can get to the dealer before 9.00am

It's a very short walk to the Ford dealer from the station. This is a place I know very well because across the road was the Vauxhall dealership. Which was my last real job as a sales manager. The actual company virtue was an amazing business but unfortunately had some awful people above me. I've never really got on with people micromanaging me. So, to have a sales director, calling from home on a Saturday morning 15 minutes after an enquiry comes into the business. At 9.15 am. Asking me why the salesman hasn't sent a welcome video to the customer yet. Was the final straw.

The truck was waiting outside for me and I quickly did. My appraisal took the photographs. Made my way to the M25 around to the M4 and on the way to Swansea. A journey of about 4 hours with a few stops.

I arrived at the company purchasing the truck which was a van and truck rental company, a family business and such friendly people inviting me in not only for a cup of tea but to have some lunch in the cafe they had next door but me being me. I said no because I wanted to make my way to the dealer to collect the car to get back and time was running short but so kind of them to offer. And I should really start to relax and take people up on these offers.
Once I've done my appraisal and they were happy to sign for the truck, I summoned an Uber to go to the Hyundai dealer in Swansea to collect the next car home.
This was a rather battered MG ZS which really didn't feel right driving it.
It was certainly making some strange engine noises but there were no engine lights on, nothing burning and I needed to get back, so it was fine. 😁
I put enough fuel in it to get back or so. I thought the damn thing used an awful lot of fuel on the way home which doesn't help the profit.
But I made it home. Parked it up for the night. Ready for the quick trip to Laighton Buzzard tomorrow to leave it at the buyer.
Which is the same place that I collect a lot of Peugeot's for delivery. Yes, the same prep centre which is a very simple bus ride home.
A very profitable day but a long and enjoyable one. And again in glorious sunshine and blue skies. Which makes any day enjoyable.
I can't recommend this work highly enough, but what I can recommend is if you want to learn how to do this. Join our program now
