After a great night's sleep at the Havelock in Nairn. I had a 9.16 train from Nairn to Glasgow to catch. So Breakfast at 8.00 which was a real traditional Scottish Breakfast. Pot of tea. As Cappuccino was either not possible or unknown here.
My great day ended right there.
The treacherous walk in the snow and slush to the station. Turned into a treacherous walk back because the train was cancelled. As was the next one an hour later. Thank you Scott rail for absolutely no information on your website about how to get to Glasgow. From here.
Thankfully Google told me a bus was due to go from Nairn to Inverness at 9.37. So I walked the 15 minutes to Nairn bus Terminal and waited.

A number 10 bus boarded. Even though a local told me all buses were cancelled. Mischievous git. Finally arrived at Inverness and I had missed my train to Glasgow. And the next was delayed. But luckily not cancelled as many others are

Train boarded and finally heading south to Glasgow. I'm on a train to Edinburgh and will change at Stirling.
Going through Aviemore the snow was heavy

Just hoping that I arrive in Glasgow in time for the last bus to Campbelltown.
As the train descended from the Highlands to central Scotland.
The snow disappeared and the gray skies and cold started to feel familiar. As did the rows of houses to be seen from the train from Stirling, where I had to change to Glasgow.
Rows of grey pebble dash houses typical, for some reason, of Scotland.

A place I remember in my childhood from school to aged 25 when I moved to London.. often thinking about coming back. Until I actually do. Although I really love visiting and have fond memories. Bloody hypocrite.
So my 14.20 bus to Campbelltown missed, I would now have to wait until 18.05 for the next.
My first visit to Buchanan Street Bus station is actually far better than expected. Very well organised and very close to the centre of Glasgow. 5 minutes walk to Sauchiehall Street actually . So having three hours to kill, I had a wander

I decided to have something to eat and relaxed.
Going back to the bus station half an hour before take off.
Bus boarded and four long hours to Campbelltown ahead, in in the dark which is a shame. But tomorrow is to collect a car and do the same drive back. So plenty of time to take in the scenery and take some photos for tomorrow.
