Today's collection of another van from BCA Doncaster means an early start to deliver the VW Golf I collected on Friday to Citroen Sheffield.

The M1 was clear of issues and it took me just over 3 hours.

I arrived at 8.30 and a salesman kindly checked it in for me on his arrival. The downside to my arrival time was rush hour traffic to get to the station.

An Uber summoned. I had a 20 minutes wait for one to come. I still got to the station earlier than expected. And went to find the train which goes direct to Doncaster.

After a short wait and a coffee. I arrived at the BCA site, via a second Uber of the day around 10.30 .

The check in process here is a little different. You are given a BCA card with a number once signed in. Then you go to the next Portacabin and give the registration number and they bring the van round.

Of course booking a slot a few days before is required too. But it is easily done online once you have the Release code. These are the things that you learn on our training programme and having so many different processes even for one collection company it's important to learn as it's time saved is vital for you to get moving.

The vans battery was flat so the BCA staff brought a jump pack and got it revived. And after a thorough appraisal I was in my way. Thankfully it had enough fuel to give it a run to charge the battery before stopping for fuel, unfortunately on the M1 and the crazy fuel prices.

Another horrendous drive southbound M1 in the rain was ahead. But the van coped ok and was warm and comfortable enough.

No sat nav, or media system, meant it was just radio and if needed , my phone to navigate. Luckily once on the M1 I know the way. And finally arrived in Aylesbury around 3pm

Van delivered and walked the mile home .

Tired but satisfying day. Job ✅
