A kind of, day off today, as my wife and I wanted to go to Whitechapel, Spittalfields area of London to eat some Brazilian Barbecue meat from the streetfood area just outside the old Spittalfields Market. There is a choice of other stalls, one being a very good Indian stall. But we always, and, naturally, given Alda's Brazilian roots. We go for the simple smokey BBQ beef stall. Her knowledge of Brazilian Barbecue cooking made her try the meat first and ask how it's cooked and prepared. Making sure it's cooked with nothing but salt added before flame grilled. Once satisfied we both ordered the beef brisket in pitta bread with some chilli sauce added to the side.

We then found a space to sit and enjoy amongst the lunchtime workers and visitors in the baking hot sunshine, places in the shade were at a premium.
It's a great place to spend time, eat great food and watch people.
I suppose I need to mention work. We actually got to London by taking a job from Aylesbury to Battersea. Delivering a Range Rover Velar, between dealers. Arriving in Battersea we left the car and walked to the nearest train station station. Which happens to be Clapham Junction and get to Whitechapel, directly, via the Windrush line. Then the short walk through the vast amount of market stalls on Commercial Road. And through a few back streets to Old Spittalfields Market . Now moved to Leyton. But there has been a market here for 350 years. Obviously the market now if full of different stalls from fashion to food and a great place to wander round any day of the week.
Today we saw some people having a dance. Not sure why. But why not?

After sitting for an hour eating the massive amount of amazing beef and salad. We had a walk around the market and then headed for Aldgate underground at the end of metropolitan line for the journey back to Baker Street and Marylebone station to get back to Aylesbury. Fighting sleep on the trains as the food took all our energy to digest.
As we arrived back in Aylesbury in plenty of time. I decided to collect the car for delivery tomorrow. This would give me an early start. So off to the dealership to collect the Ford Puma ST in that green colour you can't miss.

This was being delivered tomorrow. So back home and parked up safely all ready to go.
So a great day out all paid for with one job.
Life's good 😊
One thing that does get me animated these days is the way cars are driven and especially parked in Aylesbury.
Where we live, there are quite close by, a road full of various take away food places and a few supermarkets. But this packed road seems to attract the new breed of car drivers who think it's ok to drive in a 30 mph limit (which should be 20) at 40-50 . Deliberately slowing behind a car to enable that burst of acceleration to make everyone bow in admiration of their noisy exhausts or sheer stupid speed. But it's the parking that gets me. The road is always packed with people parking legally. So a lot of them have to park on the corners, blocking the ramps for crossing that pushchairs, wheelchairs etc have to use to cross the road.
But even better than that. They simply park on the pavements now. Completely blocking and making people actually have to walk on the road. The local authorities are simply not equipped to deal with it and it unfortunately will take a fatality to make them act.
One example I saw today and by far not the worst.. anyway. Rant over.
