A nice easy start to the new month was a job delivering a 2021 Mercedes GLA to a retail customer near Godstone in Surrey from Mercedes Benz Aylesbury.

There was a part exchange to come back so a gentle start to the month and no public transport required.
I collected the Mercedes around 10am a short wait needed to finish the cleaning of the car.
Appraisal done on the app the job was taken from. Which means photographs not available because they're automatically uploaded to their portal.
I must remember to take separate photographs so you can see.
The drive to Godstone in Surrey meant trip down the A41 around the M25 which was fairly quiet given the summer traffic and the school holidays

There was a little traffic on the M25 and in all it took just short of 2 hours to get there.
On arrival at the customer's house he had quite a fleet of cars. This was replacing a Jaguar electric I-Pace. Which the customer just didn't get on with. He informed me that in the short period of time he had the car. He'd only done a few hundred miles so had lost a fair bit of money but looking around his house I don't think that was a problem to him. The views over the Surrey hills from his garden were incredible. It was a beautifully positioned house and only a few minutes from the M25 and tucked away on its own.
I did the appraisal of the Mercedes. He was happy and signed it and I started the appraisal for the Jaguar and he did an explanation around the car of its issues and how he had problems with it right from the start. Mostly software issues he told me but he lost confidence in it and just swapped it for a Mercedes and being honest I don't blame him. It's no surprise the Jaguar have stopped building new cars as these just did not sell in the numbers that they had hoped for. A complete rethink by Jaguar is obviously imminent looking at the offerings that they're thinking about this huge electric saloon, they are thinking about . I'm not sure they're going down the correct path this time either.

So the customer's Jaguar appraised. I set the sat nav for the return journey to Aylesbury.
The return journey wasn't as smooth as the first time as the western side of the the M25 can be very unpredictable and it turned out to be so. The air conditioning didn't work in this car so I had to drive with the windows open as it was a blistering hot day again.
Being stationary for nearly an hour on the M25 in blistering hot weather with no air conditioning in an electric Jaguar is not my idea of a good afternoon.

It's a shame is the interior was very comfortable and very well equipped, but if the air conditioning doesn't work and it makes everything else, just pale into insignificance. Especially in today's 30 plus degree heat.
Once moving the air circulated in the car a lot better but it was a very uncomfortable drive back to Aylesbury and I was happy to arrive. Get my appraisal done. Leave the car with them. Explain about the air conditioning and go home for a nice cold shower.
