Only one job today. But a long one. Firstly a train from Aylesbury to Doncaster. So, time to take the laptop and do some work on route .
First leg of the journey is from Aylesbury to Marylebone Station. Then to Baker Street

either walking or by underground to take the District or Circle line to King's Cross.

I always love the London stations. Wondering where everyone is going or coming from.
On a weekday it's great. People know what they are doing, generally. On a weekend it's full of civilians. Clueless, bumbling idiots who think it's ok to get to a barrier before they start looking in bags for a ticket. Or deliberately lurk around the top or bottom of escalators looking up for a clue.
I also wonder at the daily constant queue for a picture next to a sign that simply says. "Platform nine and a half" at 6.30 on a Wednesday morning.
But, today is good. Waiting for the Doncaster train to board I look up at the station departure board until the magic number pops up. I thankfully already know it's going to be at the front of the station area and hang around at that point. Jumping on the train when it's announced.
The train to Doncaster was very quiet and gave me a few hours uninterrupted time to work on our training programs
Arriving at Doncaster station the heat was already building. Even at 10.00am

From the station it's a 20 minutes walk to the Hyundai dealership I was collecting a Kia Niro for my Oxford customer.
The walk was pleasant and a chance to catch some sun . An enjoyable walk and great exercise.

The dealer had two sites and I was shown across the road to the used car site which had huge amounts of space, unknown in my days working around London with always overcrowded sites.
I was shown the car which had been sitting for a while and I did my appraisal, which proved difficult due to the dust, which had gathered on it.

I attached my trade plates finished and the appraisal signed and started the drive south to Oxford.

A journey of around 3 hours with a stop.
Arrived back in Oxford dropped off the car and jumped on a bus into Oxford, stopping at Queen's and waiting for the bus to Aylesbury.
Two very different experiences
First bus into Oxford. Regular as clockwork, clean, efficient and now fully electric.
The bus to Aylesbury. Old, noisy like riding a rodeo horse at times when kerbs and potholes are hit with amazing regularity. And takes well over an hour. Seats are too close so my six foot frame is nearly broken when I arrive.
But arrive I did and I imagine I'll be ok for another day in the sun tomorrow.
