13th January 26. London

I have no idea why but every time I have a job going into London and back out I always think it's going to be a lot easier than it actually is.

The first job is from my customer in Aylesbury To deliver a car to a retail customer in Wood Green North East London. To handover a 2022 Toyota CH-R

On the way down the A41 towards the M25 I heard on the radio the clockwise M25 was down to one lane with really heavy delays at Potters Bar. So I came off at the M1 headed south towards Brent Cross and picked up the north circular. Which unfortunately too had an accident on it. So with the aid of Google maps, I circumvented around the problem taking back streets and it probably took an hour longer than I thought.

The heavy rain probably had something to do with it as the majority of people struggle to be able to drive properly in the rain these days. God knows what's happened to the people's ability to drive a car.

The customer was a delightful man who invited me into his home and offered me a drink. I politely declined as usual but got chatting to him and his wife who were lovely people and they had an amazing house and an interesting history of his work, which he told me on the way to the station after kindly offering me a lift. My faith in people restored for half a day at least.

Now I had to find my way via underground and overground train to New Southgate.

There I was collecting Kia Sportage to go back to Oxford.

The journey was a mixture of the metropolitan line Piccadilly line pictorial line and overground train taking in Stratford, Tottenham Hale, Finsbury Park, Then finally the Piccadilly line to Bounds Green.

And from there I needed a short Uber due to the really heavy rain to get me to New Southgate.

Arriving at Hyundai in New Southgate. I instantly recognised it as the old Fiat showroom in Southgate which was one of the ones opened when I work for them back in the '90s and I had been there as recently as 10 years ago for an interview with an old boss of mine. If I remember when it was Honda, I could be wrong.

Going from the really nice man that I just delivered the car to. This was the polar opposite a central London car showroom with salesman that absolutely suit where they work. Not wanting to help, trying to avoid my gaze. And double busy on their mobile phones.

The full court there was packed they brought the car around, parked it and the heavy rain made it really difficult for an appraisal, especially given the small amount of parking spaces. But I did it I got on my way. But not before. Waiting about 40 minutes for the car.

I finally got to leave near Southgate turned onto the A406 North Circular. Headed towards and past Brent Cross again. Past Staples corner where I worked briefly which has completely transformed and the dealership I work for has disappeared under huge building. That's going to be something spectacular by the looks of it right opposite Land Rover on the other side of the roundabout.

I stayed on the A406 until Hanger Lane picked up the A40 and headed out towards Oxford which didn't take too long at all thankfully.

I finally arrived in Oxford at 3:30. Dropped off the car and grabbed the two buses,

one into Oxford and one back out to Aylesbury.

Arriving home around 5 p.m. When I had originally thought I'd be home around 3.

That's life. But two jobs completed.
