Having collected the van for delivery today last night when I delivered yesterdays job to the same dealer location. The van stored securely in the private car park at home. This means I was ready for an early start to deliver this brand new vehicle to its new owner in Telford, Shropshire. This was a company based on a huge industrial area that seems to make sporting goods especially for anglers. Someone has to I suppose.
I have said before that driving these new Ford Transit vans is a revelation . They are are very comfortable, well equipped and drive very well. This one being an automatic was even better, in my opinion. I connected to the Ford Sync system easily, as I have used it before my phone connects automatically and I am Android ready to use my apps, that are allowed when driving. This means I don't have to interfere with the new car settings and leave it free for the new owner.
I know if I bought a new car I wouldn't want someone's phone details in my Bluetooth list. or any previous destinations stored in my Sat-Nav.
The 115 mile journey along the A41 to Bicester was quiet due to the early start, traffic building slowly as I drove past Bicester and the M40 junction.
Its a two hour 30 minute drive but the van made it feel easy and I arrived at 9.00am to drop the van off. I certainly didn't feel like I had driven so long.
I had a wait at reception before someone who could be arsed. came to sign for the van. I had already summoned an Uber. So hopefully soon. The person eventually obviously gave in and came to sign for the van and I walked to the main road and the Uber came almost immediately.
On to Telford railway station
The next job was Wakefield to Aylesbury . The train from Telford was either an expensive 1 change journey or a much cheaper three change trip. I had arrived at Telford early and had plenty of time so the cheaper option was favourable.
This meant going firstly to my favourite station, Birmingham New Street. then to Derby, Sheffield and the Wakefield.

The 2016 Peugeot 208 was as I thought a non saleable, for this company anyway. Trade car. The interior at least had been valeted as the car had been sold on the Dealer Auction platform. No satnav or much of a radio meant Google maps, phone only was my way of finding the M1, which, was actually only a few minutes away. The one good thing was an almost full tank of fuel. so a great saving for me.
It was a three hour drive to Aylesbury down the M1 and the usual route round the Milton Keynes Roundabouts to the A418. Leaving around 13.30 meant I was back around five, a few stops included. so a really good earning day with two nicely paid jobs and again the sun was shining and the world was ok.
Even the Bus into Aylesbury from Aston Clinton wasn't a long wait as it arrived just as I hit the bus stop.
tomorrows another day
