After yesterday's cancellation from Mercedes Benz Aylesbury. I had a fairly normal job to collect a 12 plate BMW 5 series from Volvo Swindon. Another Dealer Auction purchase by my regular customer in Aylesbury.
The train journey to Swindon takes in a few changes at Princess Risborough where you change platforms for the Oxford bound train. On this side of the station is the Chinnor Railway stop. Sometimes some odd looking older locomotives pass through and stop.

Here are some of the engines and rolling stock parked here this morning

After Princess Risborough. I go onto Oxford and board the next train to Didcot Parkway and then the short journey to Swindon.
Unfortunately from Swindon station the Volvo dealer is too far to walk quickly. And having no Uber in Swindon means jumping in a van at the station always more expensive Uber. But I arrived at the Volvo dealer. If any one brand thought it was better than it is it's Volvo. I'm sure the cars are very good, very safe etc. but the showroom standards are a bit over the top. It's almost like they are trying to be a designer brand. They are not.
They are now Chinese owned and just as good as other Chinese brands but way short of the German brands for quality and dynamic quality of the product..
The Staff are also all dressed casual with over tight narrow trousers and I'll fitting shirts. With the now obligatory white soled trainer like shoes.Given the shape of most men. This creates a very strange showroom look.
I waited patiently for the BMW. Again being a lowly driver. I'm at the bottom of the priority list. But eventually getting the keys doing my digital appraisal and them signing my blank screen. Without ever asking what they are signing for. Brilliant!
I take a leisurely drive along the M4 M25 and A41 to Aylesbury. Again waiting however long for the X5 bus back home.
