January being one of the busiest months of the year for the automotive retail industry, therefore vehicle movements are at a high. I have been extremely busy. Not being able to write as I drive and not wanting to use AI to do the work for me. I'm rushing to get these daily updates done properly. As you can see the dates are all over the place. So I forgot today. Or maybe it's onset Alzheimer's. Apologies for upsetting any sufferers. But you'll get over it soon I imagine.
Two jobs today. I was collecting a Ford Transit from BCA Rochester going back to Aylesbury and I subcontracted a job from Doncaster to Aylesbury for the same customer.
The subcontracted job. Took care of itself really. I simply added the job to the same platform I get some jobs from and waited for the best price from the company that had five star reviews. Simple. . Everything else the platform people took care of. They take their cut from the company. Not me. Job done.
I started early to get to Rochester on the 5.20am from Aylesbury to Marylebone. Getting off at Harrow on the Hill. Then the Metropolitan line to King's Cross, St Pancras. Then from their to Strood Station. The nearest station to the BCA site.

The morning was beautiful. Watching it getting lighter from the train. Which was very quiet apart from between Stratford and Tonbridge where it got busy with school kids. Actually packed for those few stops. Was I that noisy at that age?
Arriving at Strood Station. The sun was just coming up over the Thames estuary and illuminated the various dockside industrial area. Quite beautiful in its own different way.

The Uber was a few minutes away and it was about 20 minutes to the BCA site. With a taxi being the only option. Thankfully Uber operates here. Or the local taxis would know they are the only option and charge accordingly. I once got charged £45 on a Saturday morning for an 8 mile trip by the 'only option " local firm.
I arrived in great time at 8.15 and the process here is so different to Corby BCA.
The gate operator takes your details. Call the site and they bring the vehicle to you.
Easy, apart from the 10 minutes wait in -4 temperature's.

When it arrived the other doors couldn't open as the locks were frozen solid. Bit I managed my appraisal as The BCA man did his. Signatures swapped. I was ready for the off.
The drive back took in the A2 to the M25 and anti clockwise to the Dartford crossing. Then to the A41 towards Aylesbury..it was very quiet for a change and I was back home by 11.30.
